Ingredients:

Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage

4 tablespoons butter
1 onion, thinly sliced
6 whole cloves
6 juniper berries
1/2 cups balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 pound head red cabbage, shredded
2 tablespoons sorghum or molasses
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a large 3 quart casserole or simmer pot. Cover.

Microwave on high for 10 minutes, then on half power for 30-40 minutes, or until tender.

Serve hot with turkey, or with German sausages.

This can be made days in advance, and then reheated. It is very good just at room temperature.
