Cut the cabbage into very thin slices. Bring the water, bay leaves, and
vinegar to a full rolling boil. Add the cabbage and simmer about 45-60
In meantime, cut the [change] into small
pieces and fry it enough to brown. Drain and discard all the water from
the cabbage and place cooked cabbage in a serving bowl.
Add the cooked [change], sugar to taste,
and salt and pepper. Serve warm or at room temperature.
