Red Cabbage
Ingredients:

1 good sized head red cabbage
6-8 cups water
2 bay leaves
1 cup white wine vinegar
[change]
1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
salt and pepper, to taste

Cut the cabbage into very thin slices. Bring the water, bay leaves, and vinegar to a full rolling boil. Add the cabbage and simmer about 45-60 minutes.

In meantime, cut the [change] into small pieces and fry it enough to brown. Drain and discard all the water from the cabbage and place cooked cabbage in a serving bowl.

Add the cooked [change], sugar to taste, and salt and pepper. Serve warm or at room temperature.
