Malca's Mushroom Barley Soup
Ingredients: Parve
  • 3 diced onions
  • oil (to saute onions and mushrooms)
  • 1 cup canned or fresh sliced mushrooms (canned are preferred, they last longer when reheated)
  • 1/2 cup of barley
  • 2 diced carrots
  • 3/4 cup lima beans
  • 14 cups of water
  • Pepper, garlic powder and 1 TBSP of chicken powder

Brown mushrooms and onions until transparent. Put in pot. Put the rest of the ingredients in the pot.

Add 14 cups of water and mix with chicken powder and seasoning. Bring to a boil. Lower flame and simmer for 3 hours
