Seudah Shlishit Recipes: These recipes
are for the third of the three meals on
Shabbat, called "Seudah Shlishit,"
(pronounced 'seh-ooh-DAH sheli-SHEET') or
literally, 'the third meal.' It is
eaten in the late afternoon, after Mincha
(the afternoon prayers), when the day is
waning. Unlike the typical American late
afternoon or evening dinner being the main
meal, this meal is usually lighter than the
first two meals on Friday night and Shabbat
noon, and consists of
Fish and lighter foods.
