Heat
shortening and water until shortening is
dissolved. Add matzo meal, salt, and sugar
and stir until mixture no longer sticks to
the side of pan. Remove from heat and cool
well.
Beat eggs
into mixture, one at a time. Spoon into a
well-greased muffin pan, popover pan, or
Pyrex custard cup until almost full.
Bake in
preheated oven at 400 degrees F for about 50
minutes.
