Jewish Recipes --> Recipes --> Meat --> Kosher Beef

Sliced Steak Au Jus
  • 1 beef top round steak, cut 1 inch thick (about 1 3/4 pounds)
  • 1 2 1/2 or 3 ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dash pepper

About 1 3/4 hours before serving: trim excess fat from meat, cut into 1/4 inch slices.

In 12 x 8 baking dish, arrange steak slices. Sprinkle mushrooms, and remaining ingredients over steak. Cover with foil.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake about 15 minutes longer if necessary until meat is fork tender, basting occasionally.
