Jewish Recipes --> Recipes --> Meat --> Meatballs

Barbecued Meatballs

3 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup mocha mix
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup cracker crumbs
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons chili powder

Combine all ingredients (mix will be soft) and shape into walnut sized balls. Place in a single layer on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. After the meatballs have been frozen, they can be put in freezer bags and stored for later use in other dishers.

Makes approximately 80 meatballs which are great to put in spaghetti sauce or to serve in the barbecue sauce below.
Barbecue sauce:

2 cups catsup
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup chopped onion

Combine all sauce ingredients and stir until sugar dissolves. Place frozen meat balls in one layer in a 13 x 9 pan. Pour sauce over the frozen meatballs and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
