Recipe Ingredients:

Cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4
tsp. baking powder
- 1/2
cup margarine, at room
temperature
- 1/2
+ 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1
large egg
- 3
medium red apples, cored,
quartered and sliced
- 1
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Glaze
- 1/4
cup apricot jam
- 1
Tbsp lemon juice

Serves: 8
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
F. Spray a 10 inch tart pan
(with removable bottom) with
nonstick cooking spray.
Combine flour and baking powder
in a medium bowl and set aside.
In large bowl, cram together
margarine and 1/2 cup sugar
with electric mixer at high
speed. Lower speed to
medium, add egg and beat until
fully combined. Gradually
add flour mixture until fully
incorporated. The dough
will be very soft sticky.
Place dough in prepared pan.
With floured fingers, shape
to form an even crust.
Overlap apples slices on dough,
cut side down. Combine
cinnamon and 1 1/2 Tbsp, sugar
and sprinkle over tart.
Bake until crust is golden
brown, about 45 minutes, and
let cool.
To prepare glaze, heat jam
and lemon juice over medium
heat, mixing until combined.
Remove from heat and gently
brush over entire tart. |
