Uncle Ronnie's Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  1. In bowl combine the 2 sugars and mix well.
  2. Add shortening and vanilla and mix well.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.
  4. Add flour, baking soda and salt and mix well.
  5. Add chocolate chips and mix well.
  6. Form into neat balls and flatten slightly. Bake on ungreased sheet at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes.

Natural cereals ground in the blender or food processor can be substituted for all or part of the flour in most cookie recipes.

Or use very fine unseasoned bread crumbs.
