Shana's Coffee Cake
Recipe Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    (for topping)

    Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add vanilla and salt. Sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder together. Add alternately with sour cream. Put half the batter into a tube pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture and chopped nuts. Top with remaining batter. Top again with cinnamon/sugar mixture.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes until inserted toothpick is clean.
