- 1 ¾ cup
Flour
- 1
teaspoon baking soda
- ¼
teaspoon salt
- 1
teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup
shortening
- 1 cup
sugar
- 2
eggs
- 1 cup
applesauce
- 1 6
ounce bag of chocolate chips
Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon
together. In a separate bowl, cream
shortening and sugar together. Add eggs
one at a time.
Add the flour mixture alternately with the
applesauce to the sugar mixture. Beat
until smooth.
Stir in ½ of the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips
over the top. Bake in a 325 degree oven
for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
Note: Check
eggs for blood before using-- Eggs that
contain trace amount of blood are trief and
are not kosher.

on the brand of shortening and
chocolate chips you use will determine
