Easy Banana Bread
  • 1 Cup ripe bananas, crushed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • ½ cup parve margarine
  • 1 ¾ cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • if desired, ½ cup chopped walnuts

    Cream sugar and margarine.

    Sift the flour, baking soda and baking powder together 3 times. Add bananas and flour mixture to the margarine and sugar mixture. Beat well. Fold in the beaten eggs and nuts.

    Pour into a lightly greased loaf pan.

    Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes.

Note: Check eggs for blood before using -- Eggs that contain trace amount of blood are trief and are not kosher.

Depending on the brand of shortening and chocolate chips you use will determine if the recipe is Parve or Dairy
